Your total satisfaction is our #1 priority, and we will take whatever steps are necessary to accomplish this. The bottom line is very simple; Either you are totally satisfied, or your money will be refunded, no questions asked. Please note that the only thing we cannot guarantee against is heat damage during shipping, as we have absolutely no control over a package once it is shipped. We will be happy to giftwrap your purchase. We will include a gift card with the
message you enter on the Order Form. The charge is $6.95 per order.
Please, only one ship-to address per order. If you are sending gifts to more

Backorders

We do not backorder. If your order includes an item which is out of stock, and cannot be shipped to you within 10 business days, you will be advised by e-mail, and your order shipped less that item, or items. We only ever charge for items actually shipped. Your shipment confirmation e-mail will show only the items, and quantities shipped. The charge applied to your credit card will reflect any changes to your original order. You will see the "authorized" amount for your card, created at the time you placed the order, and the actual "charged" amount clearly stated.

The reason we do not backorder is to keep our costs, and therefore our prices as low possible. We are dealing with items that are imported, and although we have shipments from the UK arriving twice a week, fluctuations in both supply and demand can cause occasional shortages. We do everything possible to maintain sufficient inventory, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

We ship to all 50 states - We no longer offer international shipments.

SUMMER SHIPPING
When ordering chocolate, and chocolate coated biscuits between May and September, we strongly recommend that you select Next Day Air, or at least 2nd day Air if you live outside of the two-day shipping area (Check the UPS map by
clicking here). We are not responsible for damage or spoilage due to excessive heat in transit, and UPS will not accept claims for heat damage.

We also recommend that, if you are at work during the day, and cannot have the order shipped to your place of business, consider having the order shipped to a neighbour, or a friend. That way the package is not left out in the heat of the day.

Shipment Rates

POINT OF SHIPMENT All orders shipped from from Greensboro, North Carolina.

UPS Shipment rates for all UPS services; Ground, 3-Day Select, 2nd Day Air, and Next Day Air, are calculated by UPS in real time, based on the weight of your order, and your zip code. We are not in the business of making money on shipping, and we do not charge a packaging or handling fee.

UPS AIR FREIGHT ADDITIONAL CHARGES Please be aware that occasionally on airfreight shipments (3-Day, 2nd-Day Air, and Next Day Air) UPS imposes additional charges based on what is called "Dimensional Weight" if the box required is large, and yet the contents light (for example: Christmas Crackers). We reserve the right to apply these additional charges to your order, although you will of course be advised should this occur.

NOTE: Alaska, and Hawaii orders can now ship via UPS Ground, although if you prefer you can still select the US Postal Sevice.

IMPORTANT If we incur additional charges from UPS due to errors in the address information provided, you will be charged that additional amount.

US POSTAL SERVICE Use this option if you have a PO Box, and therefore cannot use UPS. This is by far the most expensive way to ship within the US. This is particularly true of orders that have a high weight. The rate quoted on your order should be used as a guideline ONLY, and the actual cost may well be significantly higher. This will depend on how far the ship-to address is from our shipping location in North Carolina (zip code 27406), and the weight of the shipment. You will be charged the actual mailing cost, plus a $2.00 handling fee.



We do not provide tracking information for Post Office shipments unless that service is specifically requested in the comments box of your order. The Post Office charges extra for this service, and if requested this cost will be added to the shipping charge at the time of shipment.

All orders placed on this Web site are accepted subject to the terms and conditions of business as detailed in this information section. ShopEnglandOnline.com reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. ShopEnglandOnline.com also reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order (with prior notification), to supply less than the quantity you ordered of any item.

In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error, computational error, or an error in pricing information from our suppliers, ShopEnglandOnline.com reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. As your credit card is not charged until the order actually ships, no credit will be required.

In the event of an order being shipped, and the customer chooses to return the package as "unwanted" they will be credited in full for the value of the merchandise, but charged in full for both the outbound, and the return shipping.

  • HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON SHIPPING
    No one likes paying shipping charges; I know we don't. But there are ways to significantly reduce the shipping cost when buying online.
  • We suggest that you purchase a large enough order to make the shipping charges worthwhile as charge increments for each additional pound are relatively small.

    For Example: Let's say you want to purchase some McVities Ginger biscuits, and you live in Chicago. If you order 6 packets, the shipping cost would be $7.17. If you increased the quantity to 12, the shipping would be $7.69, an increase of only $0.52 for an extra 6 packets of biscuits. Think about how quickly you will consume the item you are buying, and ask yourself if it would make sense to increase the quantity.

    On most items you will also find a multiple quantity discount. An example would be : Our Price: $3.23, 6 for $18.99. In this case, any quantity of 6 or more would be $3.16 each. If you are interested in a larger quantity, e-mail us for a price quote.

  • PLEASE ensure that the shipping address information you provide is accurate. You will be charged any address correction, or redirection charges imposed on us by UPS due to incorrect information.
  • When ordering perishables, particularly chocolate, and chocolate-coated items in the summer months, if you are at work during the day, and cannot have the order shipped to your place of business, consider having the order shipped to a neighbour, or a friend. That way the package is not left out in the heat of the day.

    Returns Policy

    We do not have a returns policy. There are many issues regarding the return of food items, most of them health related. In its place however, we have a credo which could not be more straightforward:

    Recycled Packaging

    It is possible you will receive your order in recycled packaging. We have made arrangements with local companies to reuse boxes they no longer require, but which are perfectly suitable for shipping the types of products we sell. When we use recycled packaging the box will carry a label confirming this policy.

    We believe strongly in recycling, and do everything in our power to reduce the impact on the environment to a minimum. Please support recycling efforts in your neighbourhood, and if at all possible reuse the packaging we send you. We are currently experimenting with “green” packaging materials made from a variety of biodegradable, and natural materials.

    Requently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

    1. Is your shopping cart secure?
      Yes. As you go through the checkout process you will notice the closed yellow padlock in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.
    2. Why don't you sell Pork Pies, Cornish Pasties etc?
      At one time we did sell a full range of these items that were made here in the US, but found that shipping frozen items was expensive, and we were always concerned about the possible health risk from defrosted items. We therefore decided to drop that entire product range.
    3. Do you ship outside of the US?
      No, we ship only to the 50 US states.
    4. Why can't I find Fray Bentos tinned meat items here in the US?
      The FDA banned these products as a result of the "Mad Cow" disease scare of some time ago.
    5. Why don't you sell....??
      First of all, there are many items available in the UK that are not exported to the US, and secondly, we can only carry items for which there is a reasonable demand. But please ask if there is something you looking for. We will investigate the possibility of carrying it, and let you know
    6. Do I have to place my order online?
      No. You can call, or fax us, at (336)674-1024, or you can order by mail. Send your order together with your check or money order to:

      Please make sure the amount of the check or money order includes the calculated shipping charge from the Web site. We will normally ship your order one business day after we receive it.
    7. How are shipping charges calculated?
      When you select any of the UPS services, the shipping charge is calculated by UPS in real time, based on the combined weight of your purchases, and your zip code. We do make any additional charges for packaging or handling. If you choose the US Postal Service (the most expensive method) we currently have no way of having those charges calculated in the same way, therefore a nominal amount will appear on your order, but this is a guide only. You will be charged our actual mailing cost, plus a $2.00 handling fee

    Is ShopEnglandOnline secure?

    Yes. We use Yahoo! secure e-commerce servers to protect your personal information, including your name, address, and credit card information. The Yahoo! e-commerce service uses the Stronghold secure server, currently the second-best selling secure server software and, in Yahoo's opinion, the best product technically. It supports industry-standard 128-bit SSL encryption. When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form and not decoded until we receive it.

    Once you begin to check out, you will notice the small gold padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of your Web browser, and that the "http" portion of the URL in the address bar changes to "https" indicating that you are now in a secure section of the site.

    Shopping online is now considered fairly low-risk. According to CNN, "The prevalent opinion... is that online credit card use is actually no riskier for consumers than traditional 'low-tech' transactions." You should feel as safe as you would using a credit card in a store or restaurant, if not more so.
